CRIMINAL COMPLAINT

The PLAINTIFF, represented by LARRY CROW of the District Attorney’s Office hereby accuses ZAHNZI DAHL (Defendant) of:

COUNT 1

(10)04. Vehicular Endangermen

At approximately 4:20 PM on the 30th of April, while conducting his regular patrol duties under 13 BOY 2, Deputy Tevaja observed a motorcycle, identified as a white Sanchez with license plate number YHVWQ2A, committing multiple traffic violations, including running a red light and exceeding the speed limit on Main Street.

Upon activating the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect bike accelerated, refusing to yield to law enforcement. The pursuit ensued as the suspect bike continued to evade police, disregarding traffic signals and driving recklessly through residential and commercial areas.

The pursuit route extended through several intersections, with speeds exceeding 70 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone. The suspect bike displayed erratic behavior, weaving in and out of traffic lanes, posing a significant danger to pedestrians and other motorists.

(8) 01 Evading a Peace Officer

At approximately 4:20 PM on the 30th of April, while conducting his regular patrol duties under 13 BOY 2, Deputy Tevaja observed a motorcycle, identified as a white Sanchez with license plate number YHVWQ2A, committing multiple traffic violations, including running a red light and exceeding the speed limit on Main Street.

Upon activating the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect bike accelerated, refusing to yield to law enforcement. The pursuit ensued as the suspect bike continued to evade police, disregarding traffic signals and driving recklessly through residential and commercial areas.

STATEMENT OF FACTS

At approximately 4:20 PM on the 30th of April, while conducting his regular patrol duties under 13 BOY 2, Deputy Tevaja observed a motorcycle, identified as a white Sanchez with license plate number YHVWQ2A, committing multiple traffic violations, including running a red light and exceeding the speed limit on Main Street.

Upon activating the patrol vehicle’s emergency lights and siren to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect bike accelerated, refusing to yield to law enforcement. The pursuit ensued as the suspect bike continued to evade police, disregarding traffic signals and driving recklessly through residential and commercial areas.

The pursuit route extended through several intersections, with speeds exceeding 70 miles per hour in a 30-mile-per-hour zone. The suspect bike displayed erratic behavior, weaving in and out of traffic lanes, posing a significant danger to pedestrians and other motorists.

Just minutes later, the pursuit took an unexpected turn when the driver was unseated from his bike, collapsing on the ground.

The defendant refused to identify herself to the deputies and was transferred to the Knoxx Correctional facility. She was then identified by the posters posted by her legal guardian Lexa Ortiz thanks to which the arresting deputy managed to identify the defendant on the 5th of May, 2004.
